Youthful gospel artist, Joseph Tshukudu, who goes by the stage name Joe T, set the house ablaze at Mantlwaneng when he launched his debut album titled. Dinonyane The amiable crooner, who says that he spreads God’s message through music, led the sizeable into praise and worship. Tshukudu said he uses music to preach the gospel and reach out to people who have lost hope and are discouraged in life. “I want to preach and share the gospel and encourage people out there who are troubled especially the youth who has lost hope in life.

Through this music I want them to realise that they have the potential and they can shape their lives in the midst of the challenges,” he said. He further told Vibe that he took time to put songs together as the Holy Spirit inspired him. “I am not just doing this for myself; this is all to the glory of God. I have only availed myself to Him and I believe this album will fulfil its purpose,” he said.

Tshukudu also said that although the gospel music in Botswana is struggling to penetrate the market he is confident that many young people will rise up and use their talent to change music industry. “I believe that with time most Batswana will start to recognise the local gospel talent and many young artists will rise up and this will help reduce the unemployment challenges affecting the youth. Despite the challenges we have to press on and work hard to develop the industry and stop complaining about unemployment. Just like Batswana support the South African gospel music I believe if we prove ourselves our local gospel industry will grow tremendously something God has given us talents and different gifts,” he said. The album contains ten praise and worship songs in both Setswana and English including Dinonyane, Halala go Jesu, Bua Taba, Makgonatsotlhe, I will Worship and others.
