Perennial mid table outfit Police XI host Sharps Shooting Stars this afternoon at Otse stadium. The game is a must win for both teams having languished in the bottom three of the BTC premiership for some time. Maximum points are necessary for both teams; they are to go for a Christmas break in more desirable positions in the log standings.

Jungle Kings are currently blowing hot and cold in position seven while their Old Naledi rivals are languishing on 13th position with only six points. Last season Police rarely scrapped through to survive relegation under the then headcoach Junior Letlamoreng. The dismal performance saw Letlamoreng being sacked in favour of experienced Sthando Mogwadi. In order to mount an offensive in the 2017/18 seasons, the Jungle Kings acquired the services of experienced players including Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi, Hendrick Moyo and Gaopatwe Seosenyeng.

Mogwadi has vowed to get maximum points. This past Sunday Police scrapped through to win 1-0 against the recently promoted Uniao Flamingo Santos while Sharps will be buoyed by their first win of the season after beating TAFIC 2-0. “We needed a win against Santos at all costs, rival teams next to us in the log have all won, this puts us under pressure. I am happy once we win this game we are on position seven.

On Wednesday at home. I do not want to lose when I am home. I am Looking forwad to winning an encounter against Sharps,” Mogwadi said.Experienced striker Keaketswe Moloi said the team has been short of confidence and struggling to find the back of the net in the first six games of the season. “Performance of the team has been lacking. We have not been doing well, Santos was way better than us in our last games,” Moloi said. “We have not won in four games. We only won our first game of the season while the other ones were draws.”

Moloi who scored the only goal of the match against Santos this past weekend said the three points will go a long way in boosting confidence within the team. We are cautious and wary of making mistakes. Moloi said they would be seeking maximum points against Sharps this afternoon.
