After securing his first win since taking over as the national team coach, Major David Bright is confident that the Zebras will be oozing confidence when they play Namibia in a friendly game this weekend. After their staggering 2-0 win against Ethiopia, Bright said it doesn’t matter how his side got the win and highlighted that the most vital facet is the win registered against a strong Ethiopina.

“What matters is that we won and the how part doesn’t matter to us, we scored penalties because our players were denied clear scoring opportunities,” the veteran coach said in an interview this past weekend. When Bright revealed his squad, there was criticism from local football observers and supporters. However the coach, commands years of experience in top-flight football.

Moreover Jerome Ramathakwana made a dramatic come back and hit the target from the spot twice during the game after years of absence from the national team. Ramatlhakwana has been Bright’s hopes in the frontline from his days at Bright’s highly successful under 23 side dubbed the ‘Dream team,’ which came close to qualifying for the Olympic Games.

The striker looks set to take up the usual role in front of goal. “It’s good to be back and as long as my legs allow me, I will don the national team jersey, we kept a clean sheet in our last game and we finally score, we will go into the next game with loads of confidence after the motivation of the last win.” Ramathakwana said in a post match interview.

Another player expected to be in Major Bright’s line up against Namibia is Tshepho Motlhabankwe “ Talk-talk is a mature player we did not play him against Ethiopia because we wanted him to recover after playing for his club midweek, he is an old player and he cannot cry foul that he wasn’t given a chance but against Namibia he is surely going to start,” Bright said.
