Volleyball women prepare for Rio

Botswana women’s volleyball team has been in training camp over the past week as it prepares for a grueling African Olympic Qualifier tournament to be played in Cameroon next month. A squad of about 18 players from four different league teams was assembled for the training routine that takes place every morning and evening at the Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC) Hall.

Constituency tournament snowed under in Thamaga

Tournaments’ Committee Chairman Lele Pheto says they don’t have playing grounds in Thamaga although the number of their participating teams has increased. He says the most affected code is football.

Zebras’ captain Joel Mogorosi is among the 30 national team captains who did not think highly of Monday night’s Ballon D’Or winner Lionel Messi. Instead, the Township Rollers’ winger voted for Christiano Ronaldo as the best and did not even include Messi in the list of his top three best footballers of 2015.
